POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing and/or executing core HR functions including employee relations, compliance, and HR policy administration. This role partners closely with leaders to support business objectives, foster a positive workplace culture, and ensure consistent, compliant HR practices across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees
- Lead employee relations matters including investigations and corrective actions
- Support employee engagement and culture initiatives
- Manage/oversee full-cycle recruiting and onboarding
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, EEO, ADA, etc.)
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Support audits, unemployment claims, and employment-related legal matters
- Prepare HR metrics and analysis to support decision-making
- Assist with the development, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Utilize HRIS systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Paycor
- Manage processing Workers’ Compensation cases and Short-Term Disability
- Partner with brokers and vendors to support efficient services for employees
- Accurately handle benefit administration, including Open Enrollment
- Support training and employee/team development
- Administer performance management processes
- Manage support team members for the department
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Strict attention to detail while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience
- Strong knowledge of employment law
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
