Henniges Automotive has an opportunity for a Senior HR Generalist to join the Human Resources team. The Senior HR Generalist – Total Rewards will provide operational support in administering and executing employee benefits, payroll, and compensation programs while ensuring regulatory compliance. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate processing, resolve issues efficiently, and support the effective delivery of Total Rewards initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Partner with the Corporate Payroll and Benefits Supervisor to administer and continuously improve employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and wellness offerings.
- Lead execution of assigned components of the annual open enrollment process, including HRIS configuration, employee communications, vendor coordination, data validation, and post‑enrollment audits.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee benefits and payroll inquiries, resolving routine and moderately complex issues independently and escalating higher‑risk or sensitive matters as appropriate.
- Manage day‑to‑day coordination with benefits vendors, brokers, and third‑party administrators to ensure accurate enrollment, eligibility management, billing reconciliation, and timely issue resolution.
- Support benefits compliance activities, including COBRA administration, HIPAA documentation, ERISA requirements, and preparation for audits or regulatory reviews.
- Support accurate and timely payroll processing for salaried and hourly populations by reviewing time data, deductions, incentive payments, bonuses, and off‑cycle payrolls.
- Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and variance analyses to identify and resolve discrepancies prior to payroll finalization.
- Partner closely with the payroll provider, Finance, and internal HR stakeholders to resolve payroll issues, improve processes, and enhance the employee payroll experience.
- Assist with payroll compliance activities related to wage and hour laws, garnishments, and multi‑state taxation requirements.
- Support year‑end payroll activities, including W‑2 review, payroll tax reconciliation, and coordination with external providers.
- Serve as functional backup to the Payroll and Benefits Supervisor to ensure continuity of payroll and benefits operations during absences.
- Support the Global Director of HR with compensation‑related activities, including annual compensation planning, job title and leveling frameworks, requisition packets, and ad hoc Total Rewards initiatives.
- Monitor the Company’s Violation Hotline, maintain accurate logs of reported concerns, and support escalation and documentation in accordance with corporate compliance protocols.

Education and Experience
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Preferred: Human Resources Certification
- Minimum: 5+ years of hands-on HR experience with a strong focus on benefits and payroll administration
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience working in a supporting or partner role to a benefits and/or payroll lead or supervisor.
- Solid knowledge of benefits and payroll compliance requirements.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g. ADP, SuccessFactors).
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Corporate Payroll & Benefits Supervisor.
- Professional communication skills and a service-oriented mindset.
