We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to support day-to-day HR operations for a dynamic professional services / legal environment. This role is ideal for someone early in their HR career with foundational experience or exposure to staffing, compensation, or benefits administration.
The HR Assistant will play a key role in maintaining employee records, supporting recruitment efforts, and assisting with core HR processes while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the HR team across multiple functional areas
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding processes, including scheduling interviews, preparing offer letters, and coordinating new hire documentation
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases (HRIS)
- Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
- Assist with compensation-related tasks such as data entry, reporting, and salary tracking
- Coordinate background checks, employment verifications, and compliance documentation
- Help prepare HR reports, metrics, and audit materials
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable employment laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- minimum of 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience preferred
- Exposure to or basic experience in staffing/recruitment, compensation, or benefits administration
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced, professional environment
