Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic consultant to management on all human resources-related matters. This role acts as both an employee champion and a change agent, fostering a high-performing workplace culture that supports current and future business needs.
The HR Manager collaborates closely with operational leadership, support center staff, and corporate HR partners to develop and implement integrated HR solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
- Promote and embody core organizational values such as excellence, integrity, teamwork, and accountability
- Foster a safe, productive, and positive work environment
- Lead and manage HR staff within the support center
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Advise management on employee relations issues and appropriate resolutions
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters, including conducting thorough investigations
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements to minimize risk
- Partner with regional and corporate HR on sensitive or complex issues
Performance Management & Development
- Provide coaching and guidance on performance management, including counseling, disciplinary actions, and goal setting
- Oversee performance management programs to ensure fairness, compliance, and effectiveness
- Identify training and development needs and implement appropriate programs
- Support succession planning initiatives
- Assist employees with individual development plans and promote continuous development
Training & Organizational Development
- Design, implement, and evaluate training programs for exempt and non-exempt employees
- Provide system training and guidance related to HR and payroll systems
- Monitor training effectiveness and ensure objectives are achieved
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
- Oversee salary administration to ensure equity and compliance
- Administer and communicate employee benefit programs (health, dental, life insurance, PTO, leaves, EAP, etc.)
- Ensure effective management of compensation, payroll, and related accounting functions
- Maintain HR and payroll data integrity and reporting
Recruitment & Retention
- Lead recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt positions
- Oversee onboarding and new hire orientation programs
- Support retention strategies and workforce planning
Safety & Risk Management
- Oversee workers’ compensation and safety programs in coordination with internal partners
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and promote a culture of workplace safety
Operations & Administration
- Maintain required records in compliance with legal and organizational standards
- Manage HR-related budgets within the General Administration cost center
- Support internal events and community/charitable initiatives
- Provide HR support outside of standard business hours as needed
