Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client an HR Director based in Princeton, NJ.

Position Overview
The HR Director will serve as a strategic business partner, aligning human resources initiatives with organizational goals to drive performance and compliance. This role will oversee talent strategy, employee engagement, and regulatory adherence while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. The HR Director will work closely with senior leadership to ensure workforce planning and organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to the site General Manager, translating business goals into actionable HR roadmaps.
- Talent Acquisition & Management: Develop succession plans, talent pipelines, and recruitment strategies for specialized roles, including R&D and manufacturing.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure strict adherence to pharmaceutical regulations (FDA, GMP, EMA), employee health and safety, and labor laws.
- Organizational Design & Culture: Drive site employee engagement, performance management, and organizational effectiveness, often supporting matrixed structures.
- Compensation & Benefits: Oversee, in collaboration with corporate teams, competitive salary structures, incentive programs, and benefits to retain specialized talent.
- Change Management: Lead HR efforts during business transformations, site expansions, or mergers.
Required Experience/Skills
- 10–15+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5+ years in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or biotech sector.
- Deep understanding of employment law and pharmaceutical industry regulatory environments.
- Proven ability to influence senior executives and drive strategic HR initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in highly regulated environments.
- Strong background in talent development, succession planning, and organizational design.
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or advanced HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP).
- Experience supporting manufacturing or research-based operations.
- Demonstrated success in leading HR during organizational change or site expansions.
- Expertise in performance management and employee engagement strategies.
- Familiarity with global HR practices and matrixed organizational structures.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Advanced degree or professional HR certification preferred.
- Ongoing professional development in employment law and compliance strongly encouraged.
