As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead and strengthen our HR operations while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and a strong employee experience.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager will oversee the day-to-day HR operations and lead key HR functions that support the organization's growth and compliance with California employment laws.
This role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and the ability to manage multiple HR processes while partnering closely with leadership to support staff, compliance, and organizational development.
Knowledge of California labor laws is preferred; however, candidates with strong HR leadership experience and a willingness to learn will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Leadership
- Lead and supervise the HR team across multiple functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance.
- Ensure the efficient operation of all HR processes and maintain consistency across departments.
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support leadership in workforce planning and organizational structure.
Recruitment & Talent Management
- Oversee recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates in a competitive healthcare environment.
- Monitor hiring processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Support onboarding programs that promote employee engagement and retention.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Provide guidance to managers and staff regarding HR policies and employee relations matters.
- Support performance management processes including reviews, corrective actions, and professional development.
- Assist in investigations, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
Compliance & HR Administration
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws and company policies.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and personnel records.
- Oversee credentialing, background checks, and required certifications for staff.
- Monitor HR compliance processes including audits and documentation standards.
Payroll & Workforce Administration
- Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate timekeeping and employee records.
- Support payroll verification processes and employee status updates.
- Oversee offboarding procedures and proper documentation of employee separations.
Organizational Culture & Support
- Partner with leadership to support a positive workplace culture aligned with the organization's mission.
- Promote professional, respectful, and inclusive work environments.
- Support HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement and retention.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in healthcare or service-based industries.
- 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory HR role.
- Strong knowledge of HR operations and employment practices.
- Experience managing employee relations and compliance matters.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with HRIS systems and reporting tools preferred.
