Position Overview
Ellafi Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to serve as a champion of our culture and a trusted partner to leadership and employees. This role leads the day‑to‑day human resources functions of the credit union while helping foster a positive, engaging workplace aligned with Ellafi’s mission.
This position combines culture leadership, employee engagement, and HR strategy with hands‑on administration of essential HR programs including benefits, employee relations, compliance, and leave administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Leadership Support (30% of time)
- Provide guidance to managers on performance management, coaching, and disciplinary processes
- Investigate and resolve employee concerns while maintaining confidentiality
- Ensure consistent and fair application of HR policies across the organization
- Support employee retention and workplace morale initiatives
Culture & Employee Engagement (25% of time)
- Serve as a champion of Ellafi’s culture, values, and employee experience
- Develop employee engagement, recognition, and feedback programs
- Partner with leadership to support a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace
- Support leadership development and internal career growth initiatives
HR Operations & Benefits Administration (25% of time)
- Administer employee benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs
- Manage open enrollment and benefits communications
- Maintain HRIS systems, employee records, and HR documentation
- Assist with payroll coordination and employee status changes
- Maintain job descriptions and organizational documentation
Compliance & Leave Administration (10% of time)
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Administer programs such as FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers’ compensation, and unemployment claims
- Maintain employee handbook and HR policies
- Support internal audits and regulatory requests when applicable
Recruitment & Onboarding (10% of time)
- Manage recruitment and hiring processes
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation programs
- Support workforce planning with department leaders
- Maintain recruiting pipelines and candidate communications
Qualifications
Required:
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience
- Experience in HR generalist functions including employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance
- Four-year degree in relevant field required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred:
- SHRM‑CP, PHR, or similar certification
- Experience in financial services, credit unions, or regulated environments
- Experience with HRIS platforms and benefits administration systems
