Human Resource Director
Location: Jacksonville, Florida (on-site)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to provide strategic leadership across all human resources functions. The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s human resources functions, ensuring alignment with our client’s corporate mission and strategic goals. This role oversees HR policies, talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, compensation and benefits administration, and organizational development initiatives.
The HR Director serves as a strategic partner to leadership while also maintaining a hands-on role in day-to-day HR operations, supporting a diverse workforce and fostering a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture.
What You’ll Do:
HR Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization’s mission, growth, and workforce needs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on HR-related matters.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Oversee recruiting and onboarding processes for staff across multiple departments.
- Partner with leadership to develop workforce plans and succession strategies.
- Ensure equitable and inclusive hiring practices aligned with nonprofit values.
Employee Relations
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Foster a respectful and collaborative work environment that reflects the organization’s mission and values.
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and nonprofit employment regulations.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, HR policies, and procedures.
- Manage HR audits and ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations
- Oversee compensation structures and benefits programs to remain competitive within the nonprofit sector.
- Manage payroll coordination and benefits administration.
- Monitor HR metrics and provide reporting to leadership as needed.
Training & Organizational Development
- Develop and support professional development programs for employees and managers.
- Implement leadership development and employee training initiatives.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or closely related field required.
- 7-10 years' overall experience within human resources with a minimum of 3 years in a management role.
- Deep knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience with HRIS platforms and data-driven decision-making
- PHR or SPHR, SHRM SP or SCP preferred
