Job brief:
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Director to ensure that all Human Resources operations are carried on smoothly and effectively. The Human Resources Director is a senior executive responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the organization's HR strategies, policies, and staff to align with business objectives. You will oversee talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws. Key roles include driving organizational culture, managing HR budgets, and utilizing technologies like HRIS.
The Human Resources Director must be an experienced professional with deep knowledge of all matters concerning HR departments. You should be able to manage programs and lead staff while also possessing a strong strategic mindset.
The goal is to ensure that all Human Resources needs of the company are met and are aligned with all business objectives.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop corporate plans for a variety of HR matters such as compensation, benefits, health and safety etc.
- Act to support the human factor in the company by devising strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training and development etc.
- Oversee all HR initiatives, systems and tactics
- Supervise the work of HR personnel and provide guidance
- Serve as the point of contact for employment relations and communicate with labor unions
- Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards
- Deal with grievances and violations invoking disciplinary action when required
- Anticipate and resolve litigation risks
- Report to senior management by analyzing data and using HR metrics
- Create and implement employee relations policies to help increase employees’ job satisfaction
- Devise a list of procedures and practices for hiring new employees and managing our staff
- Establish an orientation procedure for onboarding new hires and training them to meet the needs of the company
- Communicate with employees about compensation, benefits and other facets of their employment
- Approve and schedule PTO and SL based on employee need and company requirements
- Respond to questions or complaints from employees in a timely fashion
- Manage all other HR department personnel
Requirements:
- Full understanding of the way an organization operates to meet its objectives
- Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of human resource management principles and best practices
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Diligent and firm with high ethical standards
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters’ preferred
- Seven or more years of HR experience required with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role. (Executive Level)
- Current or previous experience in an HR Manager role in a large (300+ employee) manufacturing or warehousing is highly preferred
- Multi-lingual candidate preferred, (Spanish, English)
- Certifications: SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar, are highly valued.
