The Opportunity
As the HR Director, you will serve as the senior HR leader in the United States, reporting directly to the CEO (with close partnership to the Group CPO internationally). You will own both the strategic and operational People agenda across corporate, franchise, and acquired entities.
This is hands-on leadership. You will roll up your sleeves to:
- Establish and modernize policies, procedures, and offer frameworks
- Implement and optimize an HRIS environment
- Build benefit plans and scalable people systems
- Lead workforce strategy and leadership evaluation
- Drive recruitment strategy at scale
- Integrate newly acquired entities into a unified people framework
You’ll help design the People function that supports 100+ franchise partners and a growing corporate footprint across North America.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
People Strategy & Executive Partnership
- Operationalize a global People strategy across North America
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the North American leadership team
- Guide organizational design, workforce planning, and succession strategy
- Provide insight on labor market dynamics and emerging workforce risks
Build & Scale the Function
- Get the “HR house in order” — policies, frameworks, compliance, structure
- Develop scalable people processes for performance, remuneration, and succession
- Implement and optimize HR systems, reporting dashboards, and analytics
- Build out a recruitment engine capable of supporting aggressive growth
Talent & Recruitment at Scale
- Oversee both leadership hiring and high-volume frontline recruitment models
- Develop and refresh the Employee Value Proposition
- Lead and expand a People team (Payroll, Talent Acquisition, L&D)
- Ultimately grow a recruitment team of 5–6 strong system-level thinkers
M&A & Integration
- Lead the People side of acquisition due diligence and integration
- Manage workforce transitions and cultural alignment
- Ensure acquired businesses adopt standardized frameworks and operating rhythms
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance across U.S. (and ideally Canadian) jurisdictions
- Partner with external employment/IR specialists as needed
- Continuously improve people frameworks, templates, and documentation
What They’re Looking For
Must Have:
- 10+ years of progressive HR / People leadership experience
- Experience leading through transition, transformation, or multi-entity integration
- Operational mindset with strong systems and process orientation
- Proven executive-level partnership capability
- Ability to balance strategy with true hands-on execution
Highly Valued:
- Experience supporting franchise or networked business models
- Exposure to cross-border environments (U.S./Canada)
- Background in healthcare, consumer services, or labor-intensive industries
- Experience leading People functions during M&A activity
