Salary: $140,000 - $150,000
Position Summary
The Human Resources Director will enhance the organization’s HR operations, systems, and strategic initiatives to support a growing manufacturing company with global operations. This role oversees HRIS administration, payroll processes, compensation structure development, and coordination with international HR teams. The Director serves as a key partner to the Legal Department to ensure companywide adherence to federal, state, local, and international employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation, Career Pathing & Organizational Development
- Design and implement a comprehensive career ladder and job architecture for a manufacturing environment, including clear progression pathways and competency frameworks.
- Develop, update, and maintain competitive salary ranges and compensation structures based on market data, organizational goals, and internal equity.
- Provide strategic guidance to leadership teams regarding workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design.
HR Systems & Payroll
- Oversee and manage the organization’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and optimal system performance.
- Lead process improvements across HR technology platforms, including onboarding, performance management, and benefits administration modules.
- Direct payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across multiple states or regions.
- Prepare payroll reports and analytics for management and auditors, and monitor payroll expenses.
- Partner with Finance teams to support audits, reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Work closely with the Legal Department to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Lead HR compliance initiatives, including policy development, employee handbook updates, training programs, and regulatory audits.
- Monitor changes in employment legislation and proactively implement compliance updates.
Global HR Coordination
- Collaborate with the global HR team to address regional personnel issues and harmonize practices while respecting cultural and legal differences.
- Ensure compliance with international labor laws in countries where the organization operates.
- Support global mobility programs, international assignments, and cross-border HR processes as applicable.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Provide leadership and coaching to HR staff and operational leaders on employee relations issues and performance management.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture aligned with company values.
- Support internal communication strategies related to HR programs and initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible HR experience, including HRIS and payroll oversight.
- Experience developing compensation structures and career pathways, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR compliance.
- Experience working within global or multinational HR environments.
Preferred
- Master’s degree or HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR).
- Experience implementing or managing enterprise HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG, Ceridian, etc.).
- Familiarity with international labor regulations and global HR frameworks.
