HR Generalist — Austin, TX
Onsite: 3 days per week
We’re partnering with the People Leadership team at Bumble to hire a hands-on, proactive HR Generalist to support Bumble’s Austin office.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and enjoys being the go-to HR partner on the ground. You’ll work closely with managers and employees to ensure day-to-day people operations run smoothly while also supporting employee relations, performance processes, and organizational changes with care, consistency, and sound judgment.
This is not a behind-the-scenes HR role — this is a visible, trusted presence in the office who helps managers and employees navigate real-time people matters with confidence.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the frontline HR partner for employees and managers, handling day-to-day questions and support needs
- Partner with the HRBP and ER Advisor to support employee relations matters, including meeting facilitation, documentation, and follow-through
- Coach managers on foundational feedback, documentation best practices, and performance improvement steps
- Execute core HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, role changes, leave administration, and employee data updates
- Support performance management processes such as goal setting, check-ins, and reviews
- Guide managers through org changes, role transitions, and exits with clarity and consistency
- Apply HR policies and procedures thoughtfully, escalating when interpretation or risk is unclear
- Coordinate closely with Legal, Payroll, Benefits, People Ops, and other Centers of Excellence to ensure seamless execution
- Identify recurring themes, risks, and opportunities and surface them to HRBP and People leadership
- Build deep knowledge of Bumble’s people practices, systems, and culture
- Support additional people initiatives as needed
What We’re Looking For
- 2–4 years of experience in a true HR Generalist or People Partner function
- Experience in a startup or high-growth, fast-moving environment
- Comfortable operating with autonomy while knowing when to escalate
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working directly with managers and employees
- Highly organized with strong documentation and follow-through skills
- Ability to be onsite in the Austin office 3 days per week
- Experience supporting Engineering or technical teams is a plus
Why This Role is Exciting
This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible HR role at one of Austin’s most recognized tech brands, partnering directly with leaders and employees while gaining exposure to complex people operations, employee relations, and organizational support in a dynamic environment.
You’ll leave this engagement with meaningful, practical HR experience that accelerates your career.
