Position Summary
The Senior Plant Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing strategic and hands-on HR support to the Vice President of Pleasant Prairie Operations, salaried staff, and hourly workforce at our Pleasant Prairie facility. This role will lead a dedicated HR team within the plant to manage daily HR operations, drive talent initiatives, ensure compliance, and foster a positive and productive work environment locally and with Corporate HR. The Senior Plant HR Manager will also play a key role in developing local talent pipelines by building relationships with local educational institutions. This role will report directly to Vice President of Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR advisor to the VP of Pleasant Prairie Operations and leadership team, providing guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
- Lead and develop the plant HR team to ensure effective HR delivery to all employees.
- Ensure Corporate HR policies, procedures, and best practices are consistently applied across the facility.
- Work with Corporate recruiting to provide support to managing staffing strategies to meet plant production needs, ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled hourly and salaried employees.
- Build partnerships with local schools, technical colleges, and workforce development programs to create a robust talent pipeline.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of employee data in the HRIS system to maintain reliable reporting and analytics.
- Work with plant leadership to review, audit and approve timecards for all site employees.
- Monitor workforce trends and provide insights to plant leadership to support data-driven decision-making.
- Manage employee relations and labor relations, to ensure fair and consistent application of policies while fostering a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as company policies and safety regulations.
- Lead investigations and resolution of employee concerns in alignment with company policies.
- Support leadership in identifying development opportunities for all plant employees at all levels.
- Implement training initiatives to improve employee skills, engagement, and retention.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Union experience preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience managing HR teams and supporting both salaried and hourly employees.
- Experience working with multi-lingual workforce. Bi-lingual candidate preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems and ability to interpret and analyze HR data.
- Proven ability to handle employee relations matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and drive initiatives forward.
