Position: Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist provides hands-on HR support in a fast-paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment, ensuring effective and compliant HR operations across payroll, recruiting, benefits, employee relations, and safety-related processes. This role serves as a visible and accessible HR resource on the production floor, supporting employees and supervisors with day-to-day HR needs while maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring adherence to company policies and applicable regulations.
The HR Generalist plays a key role in organizational staffing, performance management support, and workplace culture initiatives, partnering with leadership to meet workforce demands, improve retention, and strengthen communication across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities & Weightings
1. Payroll, Compensation, & HRIS Administration
- Manage weekly end-to-end payroll processing, including timecard audits, PTO, holidays, bonuses, shift differentials, wage changes, and garnishments.
- Maintain accurate employee data in the HR information system (HRIS), including onboarding, terminations, evaluations, PTO accruals, and compliance documentation.
- Maintain confidential personnel and payroll files in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support salary administration, including processing wage adjustments, preparing compensation change documentation, and ensuring pay practices align with internal guidelines.
- Assist with compensation-related processes such as salary benchmarking, pay equity reviews, and market-aligned wage recommendations.
2. Employee Relations, Performance Management & Workforce Support
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions, and guidance for supervisors.
- Provide bilingual (English/Spanish) HR support to ensure clear communication of policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Partner with leadership to identify workforce needs, staffing improvements, and retention strategies.
- Coordinate performance management activities, including review cycles, documentation, coaching support, and consistent application of performance standards.
- Participate in HR and operational meetings to share updates and recommend process improvements.
3. Recruiting, Onboarding & Offboarding
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and operational roles, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and hiring support.
- Facilitate onboarding, orientations, and employee communications, including offer letters and new-hire documentation.
- Conduct exit interviews and manage separation and offboarding processes.
4. Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee support.
- Coordinate with the benefits of vendors and brokers, process benefit invoices and ensure accurate and timely updates.
- Assist with vendor sourcing, evaluation, and transitions related to HR services or benefit offerings.
5. Compliance, Safety & Engagement
- Support compliance with employment laws, workplace safety requirements, and internal policy updates.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, training programs, and company events.
- Ensure HR practices align with company policies and regulatory standards.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Associate's degree in human resources, business, or a related field required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, production, or multi-shift environment
- Experience with payroll processing and HRIS platforms
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and compliance requirements

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
