Job Overview:
The Human Relations Business Partner is the main point of contact, "one face to the customer", for our department's customers at MBNAC. In this role, it is essential you have experience developing and maintaining strong business relationships. You support your customers across all aspects of the employee journey, drive strategies to enable the achievement of your customer's objectives and be a part of the broader Human Resources team progressing important company initiatives. A focus on digitalization, integration, customer centricity and efficiency is a must. The incumbent will partner with assigned business areas to ensure compliance to HR policy and guidelines and effectively address associate relations issues and organizational design needs
Responsibilities:
- Be a trusted advisor and immerse yourself within the business as a key contact, build and maintain strong relationships with leaders in your customer groups and gain a firm understanding of business objectives.
- Contribute to the leadership team of each of your customer groups by providing operational management with information, assistance and guidelines needed to comply with both Mercedes-Benz and US HR policies and procedures, as well as federal and state employment laws.
- Advise on reasonable courses of action for associate relations issues including conflict management, performance management, manager and associate coaching, policy interpretation, disciplinary action and terminations. Assist managers with the development of performance improvement plans as necessary.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to management regarding organizational structure and design, headcount changes, job banding and the development of job descriptions.
- Liaise with HR colleagues in the various Employee Journey functions on local, regional and global levels to ensure strategic alignment with company goals and business objectives.
- Collaborate with NAFTA HR colleagues from the Transformation Team, Tech4People and the People Solution Center to implement Mercedes-Benz HR Policies and Compliance initiatives at MBNAC.
- Keep informed of current laws (federal, state and local) and trends affecting HR and the Employee Journey.

Required capabilities:
- Understand big picture of the HR Target Operating Model (overall global project goals) and be a true sponsor for the HR Transformation journey
- Ability to overcome isolated competition of local/regional needs vs. global goals for the benefit of company
- Solution orientation, ability to compromise, mediation skills, communication skills, and stakeholder management
Required skills:
- Bachelors Degree in human resource management, Business Administration or Business Management. Masters Degree is preferred.
- Overall 5-7 years of HR experience
- Collaborative teamwork: working with various HR Teams and colleagues across the US
- Knowledge & expertise: experience and understanding of multiple HR functions
- Administration Knowledge of administrative HR procedures, process/project development, and system procedures.
- Business - General Knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the Mercedes-Benz Organization
- Human Resources Knowledge of principles and procedures for Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Recruitment and Selection, and HRIS.
