Position Summary
The HR Manager will play a key role in supporting Nothing Bundt Cakes’ growing Support Office by managing core HR operations, ensuring compliance, and creating a positive team member experience. This position is responsible for HR generalist functions with an emphasis on benefits administration, payroll oversight, vendor management, and compliance reporting. The HR Manager will partner closely with the VP of Learning, People, and Culture to deliver best-in-class HR practices that support our joyful, people-focused culture.
Accountabilities/Duties
HR Operations & Generalist Duties
- Serve as an HR resource for Support Office team, SHIPP Distribution, and Company Owned Bakery team members, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employee relations.
- Support recruitment to ensure smooth new hire experiences.
- Assist in performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, and corrective action.
- Maintain HR records and ensure data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems.
Benefits Administration
- Manage and administer health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs, including open enrollment and ongoing employee support.
- Partner with brokers and benefit vendors to ensure competitive offerings and seamless administration.
- Oversee benefit compliance including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements and conduct regular internal audits to ensure accuracy.
Payroll Oversight
- Manage payroll processes in partnership with third-party payroll provider, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Review and audit payroll for accuracy, compliance, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Finance to reconcile payroll-related accounts.
Vendor Management
- Leverage and manage third-party HR partners (benefits brokers, payroll vendors, HRIS platforms, compliance providers, etc.) to optimize service delivery.
- Evaluate vendor performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and service improvements.
Compliance, Filings & Reporting
- Prepare and file required reports including EEO-1, ACA, OSHA, and other government filings.
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and recommend necessary adjustments.

Education/Certifications And Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with emphasis on benefits, payroll, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and reporting requirements.
- Experience with HRIS, payroll platforms, and vendor management.
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
