A private equity-backed, rapidly expanding building services platform is seeking an experienced HR Director to build and lead the human resources function from the ground up. With operations across Florida and multiple acquisitions in motion, this newly created leadership role offers a rare opportunity to design a scalable HR infrastructure for a growing platform.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands how to recruit, engage, and retain skilled tradespeople across construction and field services.
What You’ll Do:
Near-Term Focus:
- Build the HR function from scratch—systems, processes, tools, and talent strategy.
- Own full-cycle recruiting for field and crew-based roles (project managers, site leaders, skilled labor).
- Create position descriptions and develop performance management processes.
- Establish compensation frameworks and employee engagement initiatives.
- Partner directly with the CEO and leadership team; attend weekly leadership meetings.
Future-State Platform Focus:
- Standardize talent practices: performance reviews, job descriptions, succession planning.
- Guide leadership integration and HR M&A support.
- Drive a scalable recruiting and workforce development engine across the portfolio.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years in HR leadership, including 5+ years in construction, trades, or field services.
- Proven success recruiting skilled labor (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, concrete, or restoration industries).
- A hands-on builder, not just a strategist—you roll up your sleeves and make things happen.
- Strong business acumen, able to align HR practices with growth goals.
- Experience supporting decentralized, multi-location workforces.
- Bonus: Familiarity with Predictive Index or similar assessment tools.
