Our client, a VC-backed fintech software company, is hiring their first Head of Human Resources in New York (hybrid role, 3 days a week). This is an opportunity for an HR leader who thrives in fast-paced, engineering-driven environments and wants to shape a company during a key stage of growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll design the people strategy and culture while building global frameworks that support teams across North America, Europe, and Asia. This is a lean, entrepreneurial organization where you’ll have the freedom to build HR from the ground up - establishing policies and compliance practices, equity and compensation programs, hiring frameworks, and talent management initiatives. Your work will directly shape the future of the company and the success of its people.
Why This Role?
- Impact at scale: Define and lead the entire HR strategy for a high-growth, VC-backed company.
- Global scope: Partner with colleagues across New York, Orlando, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
- Tech-driven culture: Work alongside world-class engineering teams - experience handling technical talent (front-end, back-end, data) is especially valuable.
- Fast-paced and entrepreneurial - be at the center of building a high-performance, people-first organization.
What You’ll Do
- Build and lead the global HR function, reporting directly to the CEO.
- Shape policies, frameworks, and processes to support rapid scale while preserving a strong engineering-driven culture.
- Lead recruitment and onboarding globally working closely with the Office Managers and teams, with a focus on technical roles (Java, Python, SQL).
- Guide compensation and equity plans, talent development, and retention strategies.
- Oversee SOC II training and HR compliance across multiple regions.
- Support leadership with workforce planning and organizational design across time zones.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with proven success in high-growth, VC-funded companies ideally in Finance / Fintech.
- Background partnering with engineering teams; familiarity with technical environments (bonus if you’ve dabbled in VBA or Python).
- Experience with SOC II or regulated industries.
- Comfort navigating global HR challenges and managing across time zones.
- Strong leadership, empathy, and communication skills.
