We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to join an education institution in Portland, Oregon. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee essential HR functions, ensuring smooth operations across employee relations, payroll, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in HR management, higher education processes, and Workday systems to support organizational goals effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of human resources operations, including employee relations, payroll, and benefits administration.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
• Oversee onboarding processes to provide a seamless experience for new employees.
• Utilize Workday or similar HRIS platforms to streamline HR functions and maintain accurate records.
• Address and resolve employee concerns, fostering a positive and productive workplace environment.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that align with institutional goals.
• Monitor and improve payroll systems to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Support organizational changes and initiatives by providing HR expertise and guidance.
• Conduct regular audits of HR processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide training and support to staff on HR policies and system usage.
• Proven experience in HR management, including payroll and employee relations.
• Familiarity with the unique HR needs of the higher education sector.
• Proficiency in Workday or similar HRIS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Demonstrated experience in benefits administration and onboarding processes.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
