Established and growing manufacturer is seeking an experienced and approachable Human Resources Manager to lead and oversee the organization’s personnel-related functions. This role is responsible for supporting employees and management across recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and HR administration.
Key Responsibilities
The Human Resources Manager will manage and oversee all HR-related activities, including:
- Leading the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee separation procedures
- Managing employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, conflicts, investigations, and resolutions
- Ensuring organizational compliance with applicable local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations
- Processing and overseeing bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees through Paychex
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records, including benefit plans, personnel transactions, I-9 forms, and employee statistics required for government reporting
- Managing employee enrollment in benefit programs, including life, medical, dental, and 401(k) plans
- Advising employees and managers on company policies, procedures, and HR programs
- Maintaining organized and confidential employee personnel files
- Managing social and ethical audits as needed
- Overseeing employee hours, vacation requests, and personal information changes through Paychex
- Participating in HR-related meetings, trainings, and seminars to support ongoing compliance and professional development
- Managing accident claims, FMLA paperwork, disability paperwork, and other related documentation
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate is a trusted HR professional who is organized, communicative, discreet, and comfortable supporting both employees and leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Prior experience in Human Resources management or a similar HR leadership role
- Background working in contract packaging or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
- Working knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations
- Experience with Paychex
- Spanish-speaking ability is a plus
