Job Summary
The Director of Human Resources will provide strategic leadership to the organization’s HR department, ensuring that all people operations align with the company’s mission and long-term goals. This individual is responsible for designing and executing strategies for talent acquisition, employee retention, compliance, and organizational development while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives.
- Provide guidance and coaching to management on performance issues, organizational structure, and team dynamics.
Talent Management & Acquisition
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle to ensure high-quality hiring across all departments.
- Develop competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain top talent.
- Lead succession planning and professional development initiatives.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, resolving complex workplace issues.
- Design and implement engagement programs to boost morale and productivity.
- Champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the organization.
Compliance & Operations
- Ensure the organization remains in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee the administration of benefits, and HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems).
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and company policies.
Data & Budgeting
- Manage the annual HR budget and monitor departmental expenditures.
- Analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, cost-per-hire) to drive data-informed decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior management role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- Certifications: SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is highly desirable.
- Competencies:
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and talent management software.
Physical Requirements / Environment
- Standard office environment.
- Occasional travel may be required for annual national sales meetings.
