LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well‑established organization to identify a Director of Employee Relations & HR Operations. This leadership role will oversee employee relations strategy, performance management, investigations, compliance, and onboarding across a multi‑site environment.
About the Role
The Director will partner closely with senior leadership, lead and develop an HR team, manage complex employee relations matters, and help drive a culture of accountability, engagement, and positive employee experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop an HR Supervisor and team, ensuring consistent, high‑quality HR support across the organization
- Establish and execute an enterprise‑wide employee relations framework aligned with business objectives
- Oversee the intake, tracking, investigation, and resolution of employee concerns and complaints
- Direct sensitive and high‑risk workplace investigations, partnering with Legal, Compliance, and HR leadership to assess findings, recommend outcomes, and mitigate risk
- Ensure investigative processes are timely, thorough, and well‑documented
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Own the development, implementation, and communication of employee relations policies and procedures
- Analyze trends, metrics, and case data to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Design and deliver training for leaders and HR teams on employee relations, investigations, progressive discipline, and respectful workplace practices
- Coach managers on performance management, documentation, and employee engagement strategies
- Partner with leadership to proactively address drivers of employee dissatisfaction or disengagement
- Analyze employee feedback and survey data to inform targeted engagement and retention initiatives
- Lead the organization’s performance management framework, including goal setting and annual review processes
- Support leaders in establishing clear expectations and development plans for employees
- Design and oversee onboarding programs that accelerate productivity and cultural integration
- Partner with hiring leaders and HR colleagues to ensure a consistent onboarding experience across departments
- Review and incorporate new‑hire feedback to continuously improve onboarding practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM‑CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred
Required Skills
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibility
- Significant experience focused on employee relations, investigations, and performance management
- Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee matters with discretion and sound judgment
- Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Experience working with HRIS and employee relations case management systems
- Background supporting multi‑site and/or remote workforces in regulated or operational environments
- Ability to travel periodically to support regional locations or on‑site investigations
Pay Range & Compensation
$110,000–$125,000 annually
