Position Summary
Warrior Service Company is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead and scale people operations across a fast-growing, multi-state organization providing home medical equipment (DME), oxygen, and mobility services to veterans nationwide.
This role supports a workforce that includes field technicians, respiratory therapists (RTs), warehouse teams, and customer service operations, with approximately half of employees based at our Palm Springs, FL headquarters.
As a government contractor growing ~25% year-over-year, Warrior must rapidly scale operations when new contracts are awarded. This role is critical in ensuring the organization can hire, onboard, and operationalize teams quickly and compliantly across new and existing markets.
This is a hands-on, systems-driven leadership role focused on building scalable HR infrastructure, automation, and cross-functional integration between HR platforms and operational systems.
This is a full-time, in-office leadership role based at our Palm Springs, FL headquarters. Given the operational nature of the business and the need for close partnership with leadership and field teams, this role requires a consistent on-site presence.
Key Responsibilities
HR Systems, Automation & Infrastructure (Core Focus)
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of HR systems, including ADP Workforce Now modules (Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance, and Core HR)
- Build and deploy HR workflows and ticketing systems within Salesforce to support internal service delivery and case management
- Ensure accurate and timely synchronization of employee data across platforms, including ADP, Salesforce, SharePoint, and other operational systems
- Establish governance for critical employee data (titles, reporting structure, job classifications) to ensure consistency across all systems
- Develop scalable processes that reduce manual work and improve operational efficiency
- Establish ownership and governance of HR-related processes across systems, ensuring alignment between HR, operations, and technology platforms
Rapid Scaling & Workforce Operations
- Lead workforce planning and hiring strategy to support rapid branch expansion and contract mobilization
- Ensure efficient recruiting, onboarding, and deployment of employees in new and existing markets
- Partner closely with Operations to align hiring timelines with contract requirements and service delivery expectations
Employee Relations & Field Support
- Serve as primary escalation point for employee relations across technicians, RTs, warehouse, and customer service teams
- Lead investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations with strong documentation and consistency
- Support frontline leaders in managing performance and team accountability
- Serve as the final decision-maker on employee relations matters, including investigations, terminations, and risk-based HR decisions, in coordination with executive leadership and legal counsel when appropriate
- Establish and enforce structured escalation protocols to ensure consistent and defensible decision-making across the organization
Compliance & Regulatory Alignment
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states
- Ensure audit-ready HR documentation and compliance standards aligned with Joint Commission and regulatory requirements
- Support workforce readiness for audits, inspections, and contract compliance requirements
- Oversee workers’ compensation processes, reporting, and claims management
Payroll, Benefits & Multi-State Oversight
- Provide oversight of multi-state payroll compliance, tax filings, and reporting
- Manage benefits administration, including broker relationships and compliance (ACA, COBRA, ERISA)
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of HRIS data and reporting
- Manage HR-related budgets, including recruiting spend, benefits costs, and workforce-related expenses, ensuring alignment with company financial objectives
- Ability to travel periodically to branch locations as needed to support operations, audits, and team development
Performance Management & Organizational Development
- Implement standardized performance review processes using ADP
- Establish clear KPIs, accountability structures, and career progression frameworks
- Support development and retention of high-performing employees
- Develop and maintain HR reporting and dashboards, including workforce metrics, recruiting performance, turnover, and HR-related costs
- Provide regular reporting to leadership to support operational and financial decision-making
- Identify high-performing employees and support development, retention, and internal mobility aligned with business needs
- Operate as a key member of the leadership team, partnering with executive leadership on workforce, risk, and organizational decisions
Internal Communication & HR Visibility
- Oversee development of internal HR communications, including SharePoint content and monthly HR newsletters
- Ensure employees have clear access to policies, updates, and company resources
- Strengthen communication between HR, leadership, and field teams
Team Structure
This role leads and supports a lean HR team:
- 1 Recruiter (Talent Acquisition)
- 1 HR Generalist (HR Operations & Onboarding)
The Director is responsible for building structure, accountability, and scalability across this team.

Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Experience supporting multi-location, field-based operations required
- Strong experience with HR systems implementation and process automation
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now (Recruiting, Onboarding, Performance preferred)
- Experience working with or alongside CRM systems (Salesforce strongly preferred)
- Background in healthcare, DME, home services, or government contracting environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and employee relations
Preferred:
- Experience with system integrations and cross-platform data governance
- Familiarity with Joint Commission or similar regulatory standards
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent certification
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $115,000 – $130,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Performance Bonus: 10-15%

First 90 Days / Key Priorities

- Partner with leadership to align hiring strategy with current and upcoming contract needs
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities and a high degree of accountability
- This is a hands-on role. Success in this position requires the ability to operate both strategically and tactically, with a willingness to engage directly in problem-solving, process building, and day-to-day execution.
