Position Summary:
The Human Resources Director provides strategic leadership across all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, payroll oversight, regulatory compliance, training and performance management. This role partners closely with executive leadership to align human capital strategies with organizational goals, while ensuring adherence to banking regulations and fostering a compliant, engaged and high-performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviewing, selection and onboarding in partnership with department leaders.
- Oversee onboarding, employee orientation and new hire integration programs.
- Manage payroll processing, compensation programs, incentive tracking and salary benchmarking.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave programs and open enrollment.
- Ensure compliance with payroll, benefits, and compensation regulations and reporting requirements.
- Administer performance management processes and support manager coaching and employee development.
- Advise leadership on employee relations matters and ensure consistent application of HR policies.
- Oversee training programs, leadership development and regulatory compliance training.
- Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage employee handbook updates, job descriptions and compensation structure reviews.
- Lead offboarding processes, including exits, documentation and separation procedures.
- Coordinate HR audits (payroll, 401(k), workers’ compensation) and ensure compliance readiness.
- Support organizational initiatives, committees and HR projects.
- Stay current on HR best practices and apply them to organizational needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources management or leadership roles.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) strongly preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, compensation structures, benefits administration and risk management practices.
- Proven leadership skills with exceptional communication, negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships across all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated sound judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex and sensitive employee relations matters.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite and HR-related systems; ADP experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., banking or financial services) preferred.
