We are looking for an experienced HR Director to lead the human resources function for a high-volume dealership-driven organization in San Diego, California. This role will serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, aligning HR initiatives with business goals while managing daily employee relations and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the automotive industry, with a proven track record of navigating complex workforce dynamics and driving organizational development.
Responsibilities:
• Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership, aligning HR strategies with company objectives.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, compensation structures, and organizational design to support business growth.
• Oversee employee relations activities, including investigations, policy interpretation, and compliance with employment laws.
• Lead organizational development initiatives, including role clarity, job leveling, and pay band alignment.
• Develop and refine compensation frameworks tailored to the automotive industry and dealership dynamics.
• Manage and mentor a centralized HR team, fostering attention to detail and operational excellence.
• Leverage HR systems such as Dayforce to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and best practices across all departments.
• Partner with leadership to address evolving workforce needs and support strategic objectives.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
• Minimum of 10 years of HR leadership experience, with a strong focus on the automotive industry.
• Proven ability to support dealership environments and manage high-volume employee populations.
• Extensive experience in employee relations, including handling complex and sensitive cases.
• Expertise in organizational development, compensation design, and workforce strategy.
• Strong understanding of compliance requirements and employment laws at all levels.
• Demonstrated success in operationally complex, people-intensive environments.
• Exceptional leadership and team development skills, with the ability to mentor and grow HR professionals.
• Proficiency with HR systems such as Dayforce and other relevant tools.
