We are looking for a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team in Shelton, Washington. This long-term contract position requires a detail-oriented individual who can excel in a public entity environment, where accountability, ethics, and confidentiality are paramount. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in human resources processes and demonstrate adaptability to support various functions effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle recruiting processes, including creating interview packets, tracking candidate progress, and facilitating pre-employment tasks such as background checks, drug screenings, and reference verifications.
• Oversee onboarding procedures, ensuring a seamless experience for new employees and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Maintain and organize personnel files, both physical and digital, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards.
• Administer employee benefits and leave programs, including communication, tracking, and coordination of claims with the Risk Team.
• Collaborate with other departments to address day-to-day HR needs and provide generalist support.
• Serve as a liaison for risk-related claims, collecting and tracking necessary information while working closely with the Risk Team.
• Utilize HRIS systems to manage employee records and support human resources administration.
• Facilitate employee training programs and orientation sessions to ensure compliance and knowledge of organizational policies.
• Support employee relations initiatives, addressing concerns and fostering a positive work environment.
• Ensure adherence to municipal and public entity regulations, maintaining professionalism in all HR processes.
• At least 2 years of experience in human resources, preferably within a public entity or municipality.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems such as Tyler Technologies and NeoGov.
• Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruiting processes, including tasks prior to onboarding and onboarding itself.
• Experience administering employee benefits and leave programs, including ERISA and FMLA-related functions.
• Familiarity with maintaining confidential records and personnel files.
• Ability to track and coordinate risk-related claims in collaboration with relevant teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple HR functions.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and work collaboratively across departments.
