About Beyel Brothers, Inc.
Beyel Brothers, Inc. is a Florida-based crane rental, rigging, heavy haul, and marine/barge services company headquartered in Cocoa, Florida. We have spent decades earning our reputation as one of the Southeast's most trusted heavy lift and specialized transportation contractors, supporting major infrastructure, energy, and industrial projects across the region. We are growing in headcount, project volume, and operational complexity, and we are making the investments in people, process, and technology to match. This role is one of those investments.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Human Resources Director who is ready to help build something, not just manage what already exists. Beyel Brothers, Inc. is at an inflection point, the kind of growth stage where informal systems need to become real infrastructure, and where HR stops being a back-office function and starts being a genuine driver of how the company scales. The right person for this role understands construction or heavy industry, is comfortable with technology, and brings the kind of practical, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership that earns trust in an operational environment. If you have been waiting for a role where you can actually see the impact of your work, this is it.
What You Will Be Working On
- Assessing Beyel Brothers, Inc.'s current HR infrastructure including policies, systems, processes, and compliance frameworks, and building a roadmap for where we need to go as the company grows
- Owning recruiting across all departments, including craft and field positions, and building a more structured, repeatable talent acquisition process
- Implementing and optimizing HR technology including HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, onboarding tools, and digital recordkeeping, to replace manual processes and create visibility across the workforce
- Designing and improving the employee experience from first day to last, covering onboarding, development, performance management, and offboarding
- Serving as the go-to resource for managers and employees on employee relations, workplace issues, and HR policy
- Managing benefits administration including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k), carrier relationships, and annual open enrollment
- Ensuring Beyel Brothers, Inc. stays current and compliant with Florida and federal employment law as we grow into new markets, contract types, and workforce configurations
- Supporting workers' compensation administration and coordinating with our insurance carriers on claims
- Partnering with executive leadership on compensation strategy, workforce planning, and organizational design
- Maintaining accurate HR records and producing reporting that supports audits, insurance renewals, and management decision-making
Who We Are Looking For
- 3 to 7 years of HR experience with demonstrated ownership of an HR function or readiness to step into that seat
- Construction, heavy equipment, trades, or industrial industry background strongly preferred. You do not need to know how to rig a load, but you need to understand how field-based workforces operate and what matters to the people in them
- Genuinely tech-savvy. You are comfortable evaluating and implementing HR software, you do not need IT to build a spreadsheet, and you see technology as a tool for doing HR better, not a threat to how things have always been done
- Experience with or willingness to learn HRIS platforms, ATS tools, and digital HR workflows
- Working knowledge of Florida employment law and federal HR compliance fundamentals
- A communicator who builds trust quickly and is equally effective sitting with a field superintendent and presenting to an executive
- Organized, self-directed, and comfortable creating structure in an environment that is still building it
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field preferred; HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is a plus but not required
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance with premiums cost-shared between Beyel Brothers, Inc. and the employee
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
- Paid vacation days
