We are looking for a dedicated Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Escondido, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in supporting the daily operations of the HR department, ensuring smooth processes and compliance with organizational standards. This position is ideal for someone passionate about HR administration and eager to contribute to a mission-driven non-profit environment.
Responsibilities:
• Handle daily HR administrative tasks, including maintaining employee records and organizing necessary documentation.
• Facilitate the onboarding process by preparing offer letters, scheduling orientations, and ensuring all required paperwork is completed.
• Conduct and manage pre-employment background checks, verifying results and addressing any follow-up requirements with candidates or vendors.
• Coordinate new employee logistics, such as system access setup, equipment requisitions, and first-day arrangements.
• Maintain accurate and compliant HR files while safeguarding confidentiality and adhering to company policies.
• Provide assistance to the HR team by responding to employee inquiries and supporting various HR-related projects.
• Ensure proper documentation and tracking for HR activities to support organizational goals and audits.
• Collaborate with team members to improve HR processes and enhance employee experiences.
• Proven experience in human resources administration or a related role.
• Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other HR tools.
• Strong skills in onboarding processes, including document preparation and scheduling.
• Knowledge of employment verification procedures.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to compliance standards.
• Experience managing employee relations and responding to inquiries.
• Proficiency in handling multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment.
