Murad is looking for a People Operations Manager to partner closely with the VP, HR & Strategy and the Director of People Operations & Culture in driving key HR programs, advising leaders, and supporting the employee experience across the organization. This role sits at the center of Murad’s people strategy, helping translate business priorities into practical HR solutions that enable teams to perform at their best.
In this role, you’ll work across employee relations, compensation programs, performance management, people analytics, and HR systems, serving as a trusted partner to leaders while helping scale the operational backbone of the People function.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders
- Partner with managers across the organization to provide guidance on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and team dynamics while ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes.
Partner with and support the People team
- Work closely with the HRBP and HR Generalist to provide guidance, share expertise, and ensure alignment across employee relations, HR operations, and people programs. Help elevate team capability through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistent HR practices.
Lead and support employee relations matters
- Conduct and support workplace investigations, manage sensitive employee situations, and help resolve complex people issues while balancing business needs with sound HR judgment.
Support performance and talent management programs
- Partner with the VP, HR & Strategy and Director of People Operations & Culture to administer and evolve Murad’s performance management practices, including review cycles, calibration processes, and performance improvement planning.
Support Compensation Programs
- Assist with the administration of annual compensation cycles including merit increases, bonus planning, and calibration processes, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and alignment with company objectives.
Strengthen HR operations, compliance, and leave administration
- Support policy interpretation, employee leave of absence programs, and workplace accommodations, ensuring compliance with federal and multi-state requirements, and providing guidance to employees and managers throughout the process.
Partner on employee engagement initiatives
- Collaborate on programs and initiatives designed to strengthen employee engagement, reinforce Murad’s culture, and enhance the overall employee experience.
Own and optimize HR systems and data
- Support and help manage HR systems, including Paylocity and Culture Amp, while generating reporting and people analytics that inform leadership decision-making and improve HR processes.
Contribute to strategic people initiatives
- Work closely with the VP, HR & Strategy, and Director of People Operations & Culture to roll out new programs and initiatives that support Murad’s evolving people strategy.
What You’ve Done
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner or HR Manager capacity.
- Strong experience managing employee relations matters and conducting workplace investigations.
- Demonstrated experience coaching leaders and supporting managers through complex people situations.
- Hands-on experience overseeing and administering employee leaves of absence and accommodations, including FMLA, ADA, CFRA, pregnancy disability leave, and other applicable state and local regulations. Proven ability to manage end-to-end leave processes, coordinate with third-party administrators, assess and implement reasonable accommodations, and ensure compliance across federal and multi-state requirements.
- Experience supporting compensation processes such as merit increases, bonus programs, or salary reviews.
- Strong proficiency in HR systems and reporting, including experience with Paylocity, Culture Amp, and advanced Excel (e.g., data analysis, reporting, and insights generation).
- Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to navigate sensitive employee matters with professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build trust with leaders across the organization.
- Experience managing or closely mentoring HR team members preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

This position is based in our El Segundo, CA headquarters, which is currently 40% hybrid onsite/remote work.
The expected base salary for this position is $130,000 to $145,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
