The Human Resources Manager is a key operational role within our People & Organizational Effectiveness team. You will own US-based HR operations and serve as the primary executor of company-wide people systems — including performance management cycles, contractor compliance, employee development programs, and policy administration.
This role partners with an international People & Culture Manager and reports directly to the VP of People & Organizational Effectiveness. You’ll be joining a team that has already deployed structured frameworks for decision rights, performance management, compensation, and organizational governance. Your job is to execute, maintain, and continuously improve these systems.
We are looking for someone who can operate independently, manage risk, ensure compliance across a multi-state remote workforce, and drive consistent execution across the full employee lifecycle.
Duties & Responsibilities
US Employment Compliance & Policy
- Own compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII) across a remote, multi-state US workforce
- Maintain and update the employee handbook, policies, and SOPs in partnership with the VP of People
- Manage leave of absence administration including FMLA, parental leave, and accommodation requests
- Conduct regular compliance audits and proactively flag required policy updates
US Recruiting & Onboarding
- Own full-cycle recruiting for US-based roles: intake through offer close
- Implement and manage structured hiring processes including scorecards, interview guides, and candidate communication
- Partner with hiring managers to define requirements and build pipelines aligned with headcount plans
- Execute the structured US onboarding program to integrate new hires within their first 90 days
- Track and report on recruiting metrics: time-to-fill, pipeline quality, offer acceptance rate, and 90-day retention
US Employee Relations & Benefits
- Manage employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, investigations, documentation, and resolution
- Administer employee benefits programs (health insurance, retirement, PTO, leave policies) and serve as primary point of contact for employee benefit questions
- Own US payroll coordination through ADP: accurate and timely data submission each pay cycle
Performance Management (Company-Wide)
- Execute and administer performance review cycles across the organization: scheduling, manager preparation, documentation, calibration logistics, and follow-up tracking
- Coach managers on performance conversations, feedback delivery, and progressive discipline
- Support managers through the PIP process: provide templates, review for compliance, track milestones, and ensure documentation through resolution
Employee Development & LMS (Company-Wide)
- Administer the 360 Learning LMS: content deployment, user management, completion tracking, and engagement reporting
- Coordinate learning program logistics across US and international teams
- Partner with VP of People on development program rollout and career pathing initiatives
Contractor Compliance
- Own the contractor compliance lifecycle: classification reviews, agreement execution, renewals, SOW management, and offboarding
- Maintain a centralized contractor registry and conduct regular classification audits
- Coordinate with VP of People on non-standard arrangements and compliance escalations
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 2 years owning full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, and compliance in a fast-growth environment (50–150 domestic and international employees)
- Demonstrated experience administering an HRIS (BambooHR preferred) and coordinating payroll through ADP or comparable provider
- Working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law (including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII) across a remote, distributed US workforce
- Experience managing contractor compliance including classification reviews and agreement lifecycle management
- Experience executing performance management cycles at scale: calibration, documentation, and manager coaching
- Proven ability to implement and operationalize HR processes in a scaling organization
- Strong documentation habits and a bias toward process standardization
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
- Experience in health & wellness, supplements, CPG, or eCommerce industries
- Familiarity with 360 Learning or comparable LMS platforms
- Experience with international contractor management and cross-border compliance
- Experience working in a founder-led or high-growth company
