HR MANAGER / SR. HR MANAGER

A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive HR strategy in partnership with the VP of HR, HR team, and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and long-term growth.
- Serves as a strategic business partner to leaders across the company, offering insight, consultation, and data-driven recommendations that enhance performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Provides leadership, vision, and direction to the HR team, setting clear goals, establishing expectations, and ensuring excellence in service delivery across all HR functions.
- Coaches, mentors, and develops HR team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, accountability, collaboration, and celebration of success.
- Oversees and monitors department financial planning, collaborating with the VP of HR to manage budgets, optimize resources, and support cost-effective HR operations.
- Builds strong, trusted relationships across the organization, ensuring HR is recognized as a proactive, solutions-oriented, and collaborative partner.
- Continuously evaluates HR programs and processes, leveraging data, trends, and best practices to recommend and implement improvements that strengthen organizational capability.
- Guides the creation and delivery of HR communications, partnering closely with Marketing & Communications to ensure consistency, clarity, and connection across internal and external messaging.
- Contributes as an active member of the leadership team, bringing an HR perspective to strategic discussions, operational reviews, and organizational decision-making.
- Champions IMT’s mission, vision, and values, modeling expected behaviors and driving organizational culture initiatives that support an engaged and high-performing workforce.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads the organization’s performance management process, ensuring fairness and consistency, while guiding managers in coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions. Supports conflict resolution, fosters open communication between employees and leaders, conducts investigations into employee concerns, and reviews management recommendations for terminations.
- Supports the Talent Acquisition Specialist with recruiting activities, partners with business leaders to understand hiring needs, improves recruiting processes to maintain a strong candidate pipeline, and helps ensure an effective onboarding experience for new employees.
- Partners in administering employee benefits, including health plans and retirement, and participates in annual renewals. Supports wellness initiatives, oversees leave of absence programs such as FMLA and short-term disability, and helps manage and coordinate the annual merit increase process.
- Supports the administration and maintenance of HR systems and records, partners on HRIS selection and upgrades, and collaborates with the HR team to analyze reports and provide recommendations to leadership based on workforce data.
- Leads HR compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, helps minimize organizational risk, and guides the development and implementation of HR policies and processes. Oversees corporate safety initiatives and partners with legal teams to address compliance and employee relations matters.
- Collaborates on training and development strategy and implementation, leads the mentorship program, and provides direction for higher education and continuing education initiatives.
- Provides guidance to managers on employee development, supports engagement and recruiting efforts aligned with organizational culture, promotes company objectives, serves as a positive role model, and assists with additional duties and special projects as needed.
- Oversees payroll function which involves ensuring accurate, compliant, and well-coordinated pay processes across the organization. Must be able to back up payroll coordinator if necessary and problem solve as payroll issues arise. It also requires supporting employees by answering pay questions and explaining deductions, while collaborating closely with accounting and department leaders to keep payroll aligned with organizational goals.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related work experience.
- 6-8+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources positions plus at least 2 years of leadership experience.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP required.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of general employment and management practices, staffing, employment law, performance management, compensation and benefits and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of HR related issues, including compliance such as COBRA, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, DOL, OSHA and EEOC reporting requirements, federal, state, and local laws.
- Requires critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Must be able to deal with conflicting points of view and demonstrate integrity and fair-mindedness. Ability to hold and consider multiple perspectives.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship building, listening, and coaching skills that foster teamwork, commitment, and cooperation.
- Ability to lead and develop HR department staff members.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Negotiation skills and the ability to challenge professionally.
- Requires organizational skills and ability to work under pressure with shifting priorities.
- Ability to be flexible and to adjust thinking and behavior to changes in the job and work environment.
- Proven project management skills.

The IMT office was new in 2018 and offers a fitness room, game room and a variety of collaboration areas. This position supports a hybrid work model. For an initial period, you will be asked to be in office four days per week, supporting both collaboration and flexibility. Hybrid schedule may be revisited in future. The salary range for this position is $94,000.00 - $145,000.00
Starting salary and level of position will depend on level of experience
This position is not eligible for tips or commission but may be eligible for additional bonuses
