Position Summary
The People Services Director leads and directs all human resources functions within a healthcare environment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence. This role provides strategic HR leadership, oversees departmental operations, and supports workforce engagement and compliance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and standards
- Direct and evaluate HR operations and service levels
- Plan and monitor staffing levels, hiring strategies, and performance evaluations
- Prepare and oversee departmental budgets
- Coordinate internal and external audits
- Support compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements
- Foster professional development within the HR team
- Lead employee relations and workforce engagement initiatives
- Support labor relations activities, including collective bargaining (if applicable)
- Ensure consistent and reliable departmental operations
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Hire, train, and evaluate HR staff
- Conduct performance reviews and corrective actions
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the HR team
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field (required)
- Experience in Healthcare Human Resources (required)
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience managing budgets and departmental strategy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Labor Relations
- Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations
