LHH is seeking a Human Resources Director to support a rapidly growing renewable energy organization in Atlanta, GA. This role is ideal for a hands‑on HR leader who can confidently step in during a leadership transition and manage both strategic initiatives and day‑to‑day operations. You’ll oversee a lean HR function with significant recruiting activity and play a key role in strengthening people processes during a pivotal period of growth. Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Workforce Growth
- Lead and standardize the recruitment process, including job descriptions, job postings, and offer letter development.
- Partner with business leaders to support interview processes and hiring decisions.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Develop and manage a consistent onboarding experience for new hires, including workflow management within HR systems and the PEO platform.
- Establish and execute a structured offboarding process, including exit interviews and documentation.
HR Operations
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the Professional Employer Organization (PEO), coordinating HR operations, compliance support, and employee services.
Policies, Procedures & Training
- Review, update, and recommend personnel policies and procedures on an annual basis.
- Recommend and coordinate annual training programs for employees.
Compliance & Legal Alignment
- Ensure organizational adherence to employment laws, HR regulations, and internal policies.
- Work directly with internal and external legal counsel on employment‑related matters, compliance checks, and escalations.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Foster and reinforce a positive, inclusive workplace culture across all levels of the organization.
- Address employee concerns, questions, and workplace issues, coordinating with the PEO on hotline and compliance escalations.
- Support periodic culture assessments, including annual surveys and pulse checks.
- Assist in the coordination of employee resource groups and cultural initiatives.
Performance Management
- Support leaders in the execution of performance reviews and development.
Coaching, Discipline & Terminations
- Provide guidance on employee coaching and performance challenges.
- Manage documentation, recommendations, and processes related to disciplinary actions and terminations.
HR Advisory & Strategic Support
- Advise business leaders on HR strategy, organizational development, and best practices.
- Contribute to building a modern HR infrastructure for a growing, high‑performance organization.
Qualifications
- Ideally ~10 years total experience (seasoned HR Manager → early HR Director).
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business preferred (equivalent experience considered).
- Strong HR Generalist background with end‑to‑end ownership in lean, scaling environments.
- Experience operating within, or alongside, a PEO (co‑employment) environment.
- Background in clean energy / renewables, real estate, or professional services.
- PEO experience (any provider) strongly preferred; payroll transition exposure a plus.
- HRIS, ATS, and performance tools proficiency; Lattice familiarity preferred.
