The Role:
The Director of Human Resources is a leadership position responsible for designing, governing, and executing enterprise-wide human capital strategy. This role serves as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, ensuring that people, policies, and performance systems are aligned with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and long-term growth initiatives.
The successful candidate will bring strong corporate HR governance experience, sound judgment, and the ability to operate at both the strategic and executive levels.
Core Responsibilities:
Enterprise HR Strategy & Governance
- Develop and execute a comprehensive human resources strategy aligned with corporate goals, expansion plans, and operational priorities
- Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, and succession strategy
- Establish and maintain HR governance frameworks, policies, and controls that support enterprise scalability and risk mitigation
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Oversee internal audits, policy reviews, and compliance reporting related to employment practices
- Partner with legal and executive leadership on risk management, investigations, and employment-related litigation matters
Talent & Performance Architecture
- Lead enterprise-level talent management strategy, including executive recruitment, leadership development, and succession planning
- Oversee performance management systems that reinforce accountability, measurable outcomes, and leadership standards
- Support compensation strategy, incentive design, and benefits programs aligned with market benchmarks and financial objectives
Employee Relations & Leadership Advisory
- Provide executive-level guidance on complex employee relations matters, corrective action, and termination decisions
- Ensure consistent and equitable application of HR policies across all business sectors.
- Coach senior leaders and managers on performance management, documentation standards, and leadership effectiveness
HR Operations & Infrastructure
- Oversee HR systems, data integrity, and reporting to support informed decision-making
- Partner with Finance on labor modeling, headcount planning, and cost controls
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR efficiency, scalability, and professionalism
Culture, Engagement & Organizational Effectiveness
- Champion a culture of accountability, professionalism, and ethical leadership
- Lead enterprise engagement, communication, and organizational development initiatives
- Ensure alignment between corporate values, leadership behaviors, and employee experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including senior-level or director-level roles
- Demonstrated experience operating in high-compliance environments.
- Strong command of employment law, HR governance, and compliance frameworks
- Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and influence enterprise-level decision-making
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried workforces at scale
