Overview
Our client, a rapidly expanding private equity–backed industrial services platform, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to join the executive leadership team. The company operates a multi-state footprint with significant field, technician, and regional operations, and is preparing for accelerated growth through both organic expansion and add-on acquisitions.
The CHRO will be responsible for building a scalable people infrastructure, strengthening culture across corporate and field locations, and aligning human capital strategy with long-term value creation goals. This role requires a hands-on, execution-first HR leader who can operate effectively in a PE-backed, acquisition-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partner to the CEO & PE Sponsor
Serve as a core member of the executive leadership team, advising on organizational design, workforce planning, integration readiness, and talent strategy to support rapid scaling.
Talent Strategy & Development
Build and lead high-impact recruiting, performance management, and leadership development programs tailored to a distributed workforce across field operations, regional hubs, and the corporate office.
M&A Integration
Lead all people-related integration workstreams for ongoing acquisitions, including org structure alignment, systems transition, culture harmonization, communication, and retention planning.
Culture & Engagement
Drive culture initiatives designed for a decentralized, service-focused organization. Strengthen engagement, safety awareness, accountability, and leadership alignment across field, frontline, and corporate teams.
Compensation & Benefits
Design competitive and scalable total rewards programs appropriate for both corporate staff and hourly/field employees. Partner with the PE firm to align incentive programs with performance and value creation.
HR Infrastructure & Systems
Build a modern HR infrastructure, including HRIS optimization, performance systems, analytics, compliance processes, and data-driven decision-making frameworks.
Change & Organizational Effectiveness
Guide the organization through transformation initiatives such as centralization, shared-services buildout, field org restructuring, and workforce modernization. Ensure alignment between people, process, and technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including 5+ years as a CHRO, VP of HR, or Head of People.
- Experience leading HR strategy within industrial services, field services, construction, utilities, specialty trades, manufacturing, or related environments.
- Demonstrated success in PE-backed or high-growth environments, particularly with multi-site scaling and acquisition integration.
- Proven ability to build HR infrastructure for organizations scaling from ~200 to 1,000+ employees.
- Deep understanding of compensation design, workforce planning, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness across both exempt and non-exempt employee populations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence across all levels of a decentralized organization.
