Altamarea Group, an award-winning hospitality firm that owns and operates acclaimed restaurants throughout the U.S., is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join the team. Through its talented and dedicated team of employees, Altamarea Group delivers the highest quality and consistency in food and service across all its restaurants. The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department, ensuring the smooth execution of HR processes in our growing organization.
Responsibilities Include:
· Support recruiting and the employee welcome experience, including new hire paperwork and onboarding logistics
· Assist in daily HR operations including employment verifications, data entry, filing, anti-harassment and other compliance training, employee status changes, terminations, and internal transfers
· Maintain confidentiality of personnel information in compliance with company policy and legal requirements
· Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures
· Assist in the administration of recognition programs and HR-related communications.
· Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and staff events
· Assist employees with benefit enrollments, changes, and inquiries
· Help with open enrollment coordination and benefits communications
Requirements & Qualifications Include:
· Applicable Human Resources Management degree or certification and/or relevant experience, preferably for a restaurant group or similar organization with a large and diverse workforce
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset
· Knowledge of the hospitality industry and its unique dynamics and challenges, including knowledge of and experience with labor compliance, particularly in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC and California markets
· Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
· Comfort handling various benefits programs (medical, vision, dental, commuter), workers comp and insurance matters
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; must be able to handle complex and confidential matters professionally, as well as possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
· Multi-lingual capability (Spanish and/or French) a plus, though not required
· While occasional remote work may be approved for administrative tasks, the position is primarily on-site and part-time (approximately 20-25 hours a week).

Compensation: $30-35/per hour, based on experience
