HR Manager — Manufacturing | Detroit Metro Region (Onsite)
Spartan Capital Group has partnered with a privately held manufacturing company in the Detroit metro area, and is seeking a proactive, people-focused Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations across both salaried and hourly teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on environment, is comfortable walking the floor, and can balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day needs in a fast-paced production setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily HR operations supporting both corporate and plant staff
- Partner with production and operations leaders to support workforce planning and staffing needs
- Drive recruiting efforts for hourly and professional roles; coordinate with staffing partners when needed
- Oversee benefits administration and assist employees with enrollment and eligibility questions
- Maintain compliance with employment regulations, safety initiatives, and workers' compensation programs
- Provide coaching and support to managers on performance, conduct, and general employee relations
- Oversee HR systems and timekeeping platforms, including system enhancements or vendor changes
- Support company-wide communications, training initiatives, and internal programs that promote engagement
- Coordinate employee-focused activities and culture-building efforts
- Serve as a point of contact for external agencies regarding personnel-related matters
What You Bring
- 8–10+ years progressive HR experience with leadership responsibility
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment with regular plant-floor interaction
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong background in staffing, recruiting, and employee relations
- Experience working in privately held, mid-sized companies (not large OEM or Tier 1 corporate environments)
- Familiarity with HRIS/timekeeping platforms (e.g., ADP, Dayforce, Paycom, Paycor, Kronos, etc.)
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats and operating autonomously

Compensation & Benefits
- $100,000–$130,000 base salary
