SUMMARY
RHM Real Estate Group is seeking a Human Resources Director to serve as a key member of the Leadership Team and strategic partner to ownership. This role oversees all HR functions across the organization, aligning people strategy with business objectives to drive growth, strengthen culture, and enhance organizational performance. The HR Director leads a small, hands-on HR department responsible for recruitment, employee relations, compliance, compensation, benefits, training, and organizational development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with ownership and the Leadership Team to design and execute HR strategies that support the company’s growth goals and operational priorities
- Translate business needs into actionable HR initiatives that improve structure, retention, and overall organizational performance
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing data-driven recommendations and risk analysis to guide decisions
- Lead workforce planning, succession management, and organizational design to ensure the right roles, people, and processes are in place for future growth
Talent Acquisition and Development
- Oversee recruitment strategies for both site-level and corporate roles, ensuring top talent selection that aligns with company culture and goals
- Manage onboarding programs that promote engagement, alignment, and early success for new hires
- Develop leadership and professional development programs that build capability at all levels
- Partner with department heads to identify performance gaps and implement training and coaching solutions
Employee Relations and Culture
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and trust through consistent communication and leadership alignment
- Lead investigations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions while maintaining fairness and compliance
- Provide hands-on coaching to managers on conflict resolution, communication, and employee engagement
- Design and implement employee engagement surveys, recognition programs, and culture-building initiatives
Compensation, Benefits, and Payroll Oversight
- Create and manage salary banding, market pricing, and job classification systems
- Partner with Finance on payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of issues
- Administer benefits programs, open enrollment, and annual renewals while ensuring cost-effectiveness and employee understanding
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and workers’ compensation
- Manage unemployment and EEOC claims, internal investigations, and company responses to legal matters
- Maintain up-to-date handbooks and policies for each company entity and division
- Lead safety and workers’ compensation programs, including incident reporting and claim follow-up
Systems, Processes, and Continuous Improvement
- Oversee HRIS, timekeeping, and performance management systems, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement scalable systems to support company growth
- Monitor HR metrics and analytics to drive accountability and measure impact
- Lead change management initiatives that align structure and people with evolving business needs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Accounting, Compliance, and other departments to ensure HR alignment with business functions
- Provide strategic HR support to affiliated divisions, including construction, development, and investment arms
- Represent HR in executive meetings and cross-departmental initiatives to ensure people strategy integration
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field required
- 7+ years experience working in a Human Resources leadership role required – specific experience in real estate / property management is a plus
- Industry certification such as SHRM or PHR preferred
- Experience with Paylocity is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and/or Google Workspace required
