Director of HR and Administration – 9 to 5 Role – $125-$175k plus bonus and benefits
Our client, a respected professional services firm with roughly 100 employees based in Westchester County, is seeking a dynamic and hands-on leader to oversee all aspects of Human Resources and Administration. This is a highly visible role that blends strategy and execution, driving organizational efficiency, culture, and compliance while also rolling up your sleeves to manage payroll, benefits, and day-to-day HR operations.
As a key member of the executive leadership team reporting directly to ownership, this individual will play a critical role in shaping company culture, optimizing people processes, and supporting the firm’s continued growth and success.
This is a true 9am to 5pm position and will be based full-time onsite in their Westchester office.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive & Operational Leadership
- Partner with the leadership team to define and execute corporate strategies and initiatives that drive company growth.
- Oversee daily operations of the corporate office and ensure smooth administrative processes across departments.
- Build and lead cross-functional process improvements that optimize efficiency, with an emphasis on technology implementation.
- Mentor and lead employees at all levels to foster a culture of performance, accountability, and engagement.
Human Resources Strategy & Administration
- Direct all HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and terminations.
- Provide day-to-day HR guidance to leadership and employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead policy development, job descriptions, and organizational planning efforts.
- Oversee employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, and event coordination.
- Coordinate annual benefits renewal, open enrollment, and evaluation of plan design and costs.
- Maintain compliance with reporting requirements such as ACA, EEO-1, COBRA, Workers Comp audits, 5500s, and NY Paid Family Leave.
Payroll & Benefits
- Process weekly payroll, including subcontractor labor; ensure accuracy in wage deductions, garnishments, and journal entries.
- Maintain attendance records and paid time off balances.
- Administer 401(k) contributions, health plans, and other benefit offerings.
- Manage reporting for unemployment, disability, wage verification, and tax compliance.
- Leverage HRIS/Payroll software, Time & Attendance, and reporting tools for efficient processing and analysis.
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Support hiring managers in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding processes.
- Lead initiatives to assess and enhance employee development and learning programs.
- Research and recommend new HR initiatives including wellness programs and retention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
- 6–8+ years of progressive experience in operations and human resources leadership roles.
- Expertise in payroll processing and benefits administration
- Strong understanding of HR compliance, employment law, and regulatory reporting.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and implementing process improvements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency; experience with system implementation a plus.
- Ability to manage competing priorities with a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
Salary: $125,000 - $175,000 plus bonus, 401k with generous match, excellent health benefits and perks.
