Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, Team Member Relations, to lead our team member relations function. The successful candidate will provide strategic guidance and oversight to the team member relations team, handling complex employee relations issues, developing and implementing HR initiatives and programs, and providing general HR support to senior leaders, including Directors, Executive Directors, and Physicians. This role will also collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence and other stakeholders to promote a positive and inclusive work environment, drive employee engagement, and foster a culture of excellence.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic plans to promote a positive and inclusive work environment, drive employee engagement, and foster a culture of excellence
- Provide guidance and oversight to the team member relations team, ensuring effective management of employee relations issues, general HR inquiries, team member engagement, and partnerships with Centers of Excellence
- Collaborate with HR leadership to develop and implement HR initiatives and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
Complex Employee Relations
- Handle highly complex and sensitive employee relations issues, including investigations, grievances, and performance management
- P rovide guidance and support to senior leaders on employee relations issues, including coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions
- Develop and implement strategies to address and resolve complex employee relations issues in a fair and timely manner
HR Support & Guidance
- Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leaders on HR-related matters, including talent management, organizational development, and change management
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence to provide support and guidance on HR-related matters including compensation, benefits, and organizational culture
- Develop and implement HR initiatives and programs to promote a positive and inclusive work environment, drive employee engagement, and foster a culture of excellence
Collaboration & Partnership
- Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Organization Development, and Organizational Culture & Innovation to develop and implement HR initiatives and programs
- Partner with other stakeholders to promote a positive and inclusive work environment to drive employee engagement
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners to stay informed about best practices and trends in HR
Skills
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices and laws, including employment and labor laws
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working in a healthcare or similar environment is preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations and general HR Support
- Prior leadership experience preferred
Credentials
- PHR or SHRM-SCP preferred
Education
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, Masters preferred
