Job Title: Human Resources (HR) Manager
Job Location: Universal City, CA
Duration: 6 months
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance requirements.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
• Minimum 3 years of experience conducting complex workplace investigations and partnering with legal counsel as needed.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively, build trust, and influence outcomes at all levels of the organization.
• Experience supporting large or high-volume workforces.
• Demonstrated success managing HR initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong facilitation, influencing, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Comfortable shifting between strategic planning and hands-on execution as needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HR or case management systems.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends or holidays as business needs require.

• Experience in union/represented environments and in industries such as retail, hospitality, or entertainment
Quals--
• Conduct fair, thorough, and timely investigations, including interviews, fact-finding, and documentation.
• Prepare clear reports and recommend appropriate actions to support consistent and equitable outcomes.
• Develop and maintain standardized processes for investigations, documentation, and case tracking.
• Manage assigned casework independently, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Analyze investigation data to identify trends and recommend proactive interventions.
• Partner with HR and business leaders to review and enhance policies and practices that foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Partner cross-functionally with Legal and Labor Relations to ensure investigations, recommendations, and outcomes align with company policy and employment law.
• Provide coaching and training on HR policies, employee relations best practices, and respectful workplace expectations.
• Use sound judgment and discretion when advising leaders and HR partners on complex or sensitive employee relations matters.
Desired Characteristics
• Advanced degree in HR management, Organizational Development or Industrial Relations.
• Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high quality HR services in a fast paced, high change environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and multi tasking skills.
• Strong facilitation, influencing and conflict resolution skills.
• Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience with an HRMS such as SAP and Oracle.
• Experience in union/represented environments and retail or hospitality industry highly preferred.
• Ability to develop integrated solutions from inception to post-delivery assessment.
• Occasional flexibility with working weekends and holidays, if needed.
