We are seeking an
HR Manager on a
contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is
hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote/week) in NYC or Chicago.
This is a critical role within the People Function, providing coverage to designated business groups and supporting the execution of key projects. This role focuses on coaching, advising, and enabling People Managers to deliver an excellent colleague experience, while also supporting the deployment of HR programs, processes, and initiatives across the enterprise.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to People Managers, providing guidance across the colleague lifecycle and enhancing the quality of people management.
- Partner closely with the Senior People Partner to align with designated business groups, ensuring consistent and high-quality HR support.
- Support the rollout, adoption, and communication of new HR initiatives and processes, reflecting both local market needs and enterprise-wide alignment.
- Provide insights to Centers of Expertise (COEs) to inform the development and prioritization of programs and initiatives.
- Offer guidance on local issues, including employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate critical HR projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, organizational restructuring, and other enterprise-level initiatives.
- Collaborate across the HR function to share best practices and ensure consistent delivery of HR services.
Skills And Qualifications:
- Deliver support across the full HR portfolio
- Performance management & development: Support implementation of training, mentoring, and development programs.
- Employee relations: Manage cases such as investigations, performance improvement, disciplinary actions, and grievances in coordination with the Employee Relations COE.
- Change management & communications: Guide managers through organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Compensation & rewards: Coach managers on performance and reward discussions, particularly during year-end processes.
- Leave & accommodations: Coordinate with workforce administration on return-to-work logistics and accommodations.
- Inclusion & diversity: Promote awareness and ensure considerations in decision-making.
- Career development: Support succession planning and internal mobility initiatives.
- Coordinate and support the delivery of HR programs in-region, ensuring alignment with business needs and process improvements.
- Provide guidance during restructuring, including consultation planning and communication with impacted colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory and statutory HR obligations, including required reporting.
- Oversee mobility activities in collaboration with the Global Mobility COE and vendors, ensuring successful relocations.
- Continuously review and improve HR delivery methods, balancing enterprise consistency with regional nuances.
- Partner with and support peer HR Managers to deliver a consistent and high-quality HR service across all covered locations.
Skills And Qualifications:
- 4+ years of HR experience, with relevant qualifications.
- Ability to operate independently in most situations, with sound judgment on when to escalate or seek guidance.
- Strong experience supporting managers with employee relations cases, including investigations and progressive counseling.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor to managers across a variety of complex people issues.
- Proven track record of identifying opportunities to improve HR services and leading implementation of process improvements.
- Experience successfully supporting projects or initiatives across multiple business lines and geographies.
- Thorough understanding of local laws, regulations, HR processes, and company policies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong connections across the business and HR function.
- Proven project management skills, with experience leading or participating in end-to-end project delivery.
