Summary
Lidl US is searching for the next Regional Human Resources Director to join our team! The Regional Human Resources Director is responsible for managing the employee life cycle experience in the region, including personnel, employee relations, engagement, and retention. The role influences KPIs, regional strategies, compliance and supports Lidl US values and initiatives in the stores and warehouses.
** This position requires travel to stores and distribution centers around the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas. You must live in commutable distance. **
What You’ll Do
Essential Functions
- Function as a strategic, people focused business advisor to the regional leadership team in support of regional values and initiatives
- Fostering a positive work culture within the region by promotion engagement initiatives, addressing employee concerns and ensuring conflict resolution
- Act as a bridge to HQ departments to provide regional representation
- Lead, motivate, coach, direct and supervise department employees
- Oversee recruitment, training and development, employee relations, and regional succession planning to ensure the region has the necessary talent to meet operational objectives while also maintaining a positive employee experience
- Utilize data to analyze trends in recruitment, training, fluctuation, and employee satisfaction to develop HR strategies, initiatives, and to provide regional feedback to leadership as required
- Support organizational change initiatives by providing guidance and support to leaders and employees throughout transitions
- Organization of regional activities in conjunction with regional strategies
- Ensure adherence to federal requirements/compliance and company procedures
Utilize HR systems and technologies to effectively manage talent profiles and needs
Oversee cost planning and staff budget implementation, inclusive of headcount oversight
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of Human Resources to include Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Employee Relations
- An understanding of Retail Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain
- Strong planning, and organizational skills to lead and coach others
- Supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to train others
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal, negotiation, and ability to influence change through regional stakeholders
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to operate standard operating systems and software
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5-7 years of experience in a related field including three years in a supervisory capacity
- In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
- U.S Driver’s License
Travel Requirements
- This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers more than 50% of the time
