Job Overview – HR Manager – 33840
Note: This role is hybrid in that you can work remote from an office perspective, however, you will be traveling to sites across the US Southeast.
Our client is a dynamic real estate company with under 50 employees operating across several states in the Southeast. They are seeking a hands-on
HR Manager to serve as a trusted partner to leadership and employees while managing all aspects of Human Resources. This is a
department of one role, ideal for a well-rounded HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Position Overview:
The
HR Manager will own the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment to offboarding, and will oversee compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, and performance management. Because this is a standalone HR function, the right candidate will be both strategic and tactical, comfortable balancing day-to-day HR operations with long-term initiatives. Prior experience in the
real estate industry is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for all employees across multiple states in the Southeast.
- Manage recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires.
- Oversee employee relations by providing coaching, conflict resolution, and guidance to managers and employees.
- Administer compensation, payroll coordination, and benefits programs, including open enrollment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including multi-state employment practices.
- Develop and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
- Manage performance management programs and support professional development initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to support workforce planning, employee engagement, and retention strategies.
- Handle sensitive employee information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including generalist and/or HR management responsibilities.
- Prior experience working in the real estate industry (commercial, residential, or property management).
- Strong knowledge of multi-state employment laws and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems and payroll platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport at all levels.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing HR independently.
