Vice President of Human Resources & Corporate Operations - $140k-$180k plus bonus and benefits
Our client, a boutique professional services firm, is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources & Corporate Operations to serve as a senior strategic partner to ownership and the leadership team. This is a high-impact role that blends executive-level strategy with operational execution, overseeing the firm’s people, culture, and core corporate infrastructure.
The VP will set the strategic direction for HR and operations while ensuring excellence in execution across payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee engagement with administrative support provided for routine processing. This role is ideal for a leader who can think like a COO while staying close enough to the day-to-day to ensure seamless operations in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The offer quality of life hours (9am to 5pm) with a fully in office schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive & Operational Leadership
- Partner directly with ownership to define and execute company-wide strategies that drive growth, efficiency, and culture.
- Oversee corporate operations, ensuring that administrative and HR processes align with long-term business objectives.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that enhance organizational performance, including technology adoption, process optimization, and change management.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, providing insight and solutions on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession strategies.
- Serve as a visible cultural leader, mentoring employees and fostering an environment of accountability, inclusion, and engagement.
Human Resources Strategy & Governance
- Lead the full HR function, including talent strategy, organizational development, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
- Partner with managers to align people strategy with business needs, providing executive-level guidance on complex HR and organizational matters.
- Establish and refine policies, job architectures, and compensation structures to support growth and retention.
- Champion employee engagement, communications, and programs that strengthen culture and drive productivity.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations, audits, and filings.
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance Oversight
- Oversee payroll, benefits, and compliance functions, delegating processing tasks to administrative support while maintaining executive accountability.
- Guide annual benefits strategy, renewal, and plan design in partnership with brokers and ownership.
- Monitor compensation competitiveness, compliance reporting, and retirement plan administration.
- Provide strategic oversight of HRIS, Time & Attendance, and payroll systems, ensuring data accuracy and effective use of technology.
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Lead workforce planning and hiring strategies in alignment with business growth.
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure recruiting and onboarding processes attract top talent and deliver a strong candidate experience.
- Develop learning, leadership, and succession programs that enhance organizational capabilities.
- Identify and implement initiatives such as wellness, DEI, and retention strategies to strengthen the employee value proposition.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR and operations leadership, with at least 5 in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success influencing ownership and C-level executives on people and operational strategy.
- Expertise in payroll and benefits oversight, with strong knowledge of HR compliance and employment law.
- Track record of leading organizational change, process improvements, and technology implementations.
- Exceptional communication, executive presence, and ability to inspire confidence across all levels.
- Strong financial and analytical acumen; Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency required.
Salary: $140,000 - $180,000 plus bonus, 401k with generous match, excellent health benefits and perks.
