HR Director

Location: Schaumburg, IL (Hybrid: 3 days in office)

Base : $150-200K up to negotiable

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

We are seeking a dynamic HR Director to build and lead the HR function for a rapidly growing U.S. operation in the healthcare and life sciences sector. Key Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Compliance

Establish, implement, and oversee HR operations, policies, and compliance.
Ensure adherence to U.S. labor laws and international regulations.
Provide guidance on employee relations, including performance management and conflict resolution.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Design and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
Lead the full cycle of hiring, onboarding, and integration.
Drive workforce planning in alignment with business objectives.

Training & Development

Create and implement training programs to support professional growth.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and performance improvement.

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll

Manage compensation and benefits to ensure competitiveness and employee satisfaction.
Oversee payroll operations with accuracy and compliance.
Provide specialized support for expatriates, including payroll and benefit coordination.

Expatriate & Assignment Support

Assist with relocation logistics, housing, and assignment integration.
Serve as the primary point of contact for expatriate employees throughout their assignment.

HR Systems & Administration

Administer HRIS platforms (ADP) and related systems.
Maintain accurate HR data and employee records.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience across multiple HR functions.
Professional certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with HRIS systems (ADP) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
Knowledge of Japanese business practices and multicultural work environments.
Track record of establishing or scaling HR functions in startup/growth phases.

Additional Requirements

Authorized to work in the U.S.
Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
